During summer:

• first and foremost Lake Chiemsee - the Bavarian ocean. Sailing, windsurfing, or simply bathing.

• The Chiemgau mountains have something on offer for everybody:
  just a comfortable walk or free climbing.
  A must: going atop the Kampenwand mountain; either walking, or with the external link: Kampenwandbahn cable car.

Art and culture around Lake Chiemsee:

• On the trail of a King: the castle of the fairytale King Ludwig II on the island "Herreninsel" can be easily reached external link: by boat from the steamboat stop Felden.
• Summer concerts, for example at external link: Immling Manorhouse, external link: Amerang Palace or external link: Herrenchiemsee Palace.

During winter:

• First of all: external link: the Kampenwand mountain
• It takes less than an hour to reach excellent skiing areas in Tyrol and Salzburg.
• Nearby, there are several cross-country ski-courses, weather permitting even in Bernau itself.
• Even during winter you will find many kilometres of prepared walking paths. And, if you are really lucky and Lake Chiemsee is frozen over, you can watch ice curling or ice sailing on the lake.
